WASHINGTON (KELO.com) – Rep. Kristi Noem (R-S.D.) agrees with the release of a memo that has high political stakes.
Noem today said in a news release today that she applauds the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence’s release of a memo regarding the ongoing investigation into the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation and their use of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act during the 2016 election cycle.
She also says in the statement that the memo’s release comes after Noem and several of her colleagues wrote to Committee Chairman Devin Nunes on January 19, saying:
“This important memo will be of interest to anyone who cares about America and our democratic system of government. We are writing to request the immediate release of this document to the public, as well as any relevant ancillary information. The audience of this document should not be limited to Members of Congress – the American people deserve to know the information it contains.”
“The American people deserve to have access to this information,” Noem said after it’s release. “And frankly, our democratic system of government demands that they do.”
